I noticed that Beta Version 17.11 just showed up on the firmwares page.
Hasn't this been out for some time, I'm sure I saw my old watch update to this, before the battery died.
Does this new firmware fix the problems of 17.08?

2607182 The 17.11 Beta software version is brand new and was just released yesterday.
The battery went from lasting three weeks to four days. I'm not alone in noticing this, there's quite a few posts in this forum, all relating to sudden battery death,
I updated my Instinct 2 Solar from 16.11 to 17.11 (luckily I never installed the 17.08 update that killed everyone's battery life).
So far the update seems to be ok. In the past 24 hours, the battery…
just curious what problems of 17.08 you mean, i understand some had problems updating to it, so wondering what it could be, didn't encounter tbh, thx for sharing

Has anyone tried 17.11?
Any feedback?
I updated my Instinct 2 Solar from 16.11 to 17.11 (luckily I never installed the 17.08 update that killed everyone's battery life).
So far the update seems to be ok. In the past 24 hours, the battery dropped by 4%, which is the same discharge rate as the older software.
They might also have finally fixed the solar charging bug (the bug where if you charged the battery using USB to above 80% the solar charging was disabled until you rebooted the watch). I charged to 85%, used GPS for an hour and wore the watch for a day. At 77% I exposed the watch to the sun and it indicated it was charging without needing a reboot (before the bugfix it would show a line through the sun icon on the solar intensity widget when in the sun until you rebooted the watch)
Just curious, if you are using it to monitor your sleep as well. I have literally turned off everything because the battery was just draining. would you recommend that I shift from 17.08 to 17.11?
I used to monitor my sleep and still get about 3 weeks of battery life, but after the update, it is cut short to maybe one week or maximum 10 days
Yes, I wear it while sleeping as well. Heart rate, respiration and HRV on, Pulse Ox off.
I don't see a difference in battery life compared to 16.11. My battery drain without GPS activities is about 4% per day.
Luckily I never installed 17.08. Some users seem to think that 17.08 has caused permanent damage to their batteries, but 17.11 is worth a try.
Permanent damage my watch is barely 2 months old
thanks for the prompt reply. Will try it out today.
Has anyone else tried this new firmware?
