Pace and power dropout on Instinct 2 Solar

I've had my Instinct 2 Solar for almost a year now, and it's been pretty good, but I have noticed my pace dropping out intermittently for a while now. I thought it was related to just slow walking pace not registering correctly, but now I also notice the same even if I'm moving. What's especially weird to me is that cadence seems to register correctly, and I'd expect those two to be directly correlated for a non-GPS run. Pretty confused. Any suggestions?

  • Was it indoors or outdoors? Did you use the Treadmill activity profile, or another one? If you post a link to the activity, or even better, post the FIT file of the activity, perhaps we can find a clue in the data.

  • Yep. It was indoors with the Treadmill activity selected. Export is available here. Thanks!

  • Unfortunately, I did not find anything that would explain it. The cadence data is indeed all right (although rather low, often on the limit of walking cadence), and as you wrote, the power and pace disappear for no apparent reason. GPS is indeed off, so it does not mess with the data.

In your place I would reboot or reset the watch, and try it again to see whether the problem persists. If so, then either try the master reset to factory settings, or reach out to the Support.

  • Thanks. For what it's worth, here's a GPS run from today. There are several short pace dropouts, but it seems to correlate with actual cadence drops. Probably the dog stopping to pee several times, haha. Nothing llike indoor where moderate cadence stays at 150+ but pace disappears.
