Cannot connect with mobile

I bought two Garmin Instinct 2S solar (SN: 741014156, 741014146), but neither one can be connected to my phone via Garmin Connect. It keeps saying "Retry". I've tried connecting the watch to my PC, updating the software, trying multiple phones, but nothing. I can't get the watch to show the pairing code at all. Still the same error.

I've tried all the instructions, checked that it's not connected to the phone in any other way, but nothing helps.

Does anyone have a solution? Thank you very much for your help.

  • few things, location on phone needs to be on and generally speaking garmin connect needs all permissions on. judging by pictures your mobile may be a bit outdated android, maybe version of connect is outdated too? any other device to try with?

  • This is an older phone with Android 9, Garmin Connect version is 5.12.1.
But I'm just testing on this phone.
I tried connecting it to a Samsung S23 with the latest Android and the same Connect version (5.12.1).

    All permissions are on.

  • is any of these watches paired with phone if you check Bluetooth settings? if so try to remove and re-pair but from app.

if still no go, maybe create dummy garmin account and try to connect using that?

  • Hello

I am sorry to hear you are having trouble with the pairing. For this, I would recommend trying the following.

    • Ensure the phone OS is on the latest version.
    • Ensure the phone is on the latest version using Garmin Express.
    • Try pairing the watch with the phone from scratch with these steps:
    1. Uninstall the Connect Mobile app
    2. Clear the phone cache and history
    3. Ensure the watch does not appear in the phone's Bluetooth menu. If it is, please remove the device
    4. Powercycle the watch and phone.
    5. Reinstall the Connect Mobile app
    6. Try the pairing again ( Be sure there are no other Bluetooth enabled device nearby)
    • If the issue continues, I would recommend trying a factory reset with these steps:
    1. Ensure the watch is powered off.
      • You may need to hold CONTROLfor up to 30 seconds to turn the watch off.
    2. Press and hold SET and GPS.
    3. Press CONTROL to power the watch on while holding these two buttons.
    4. After the first beep release GPS.
    5. After the second beep release the remaining button.

If this continues, I would recommend contacting Garmin Product Support.
