Sleep mode keeps turning back on

Hi guys. Recently, I've noticed that my watch would go back to sleep mode after turning it off manually using hot key. I has never happened before previously before my updating my watch to 16.11.

Is there a fix for this?

Hello. Our engineers have indicated that this is a normal behavior of the watch. If you have your sleep schedule set in the watch, the watch will continue to enter sleep mode even after manually ending…

Also isnt it a bit counter-intuitive for the watch to go back to sleep mode when the user manually toggles sleep mode off?

been like this for last couple of software versions, maybe actually since they introduced it? i turn it off just to realize it's back after few mins, silly little bug

Hello. Our engineers have indicated that this is a normal behavior of the watch. If you have your sleep schedule set in the watch, the watch will continue to enter sleep mode even after manually ending, if you remain fairly sedentary. If you were to, for example, start an activity after ending sleep, the watch will not reenter sleep mode.

If you are frequently experiencing this, they are recommending to reevaluate your sleep times, to realign with the actual hours you are sleeping.

I woke up early and went for a long bike ride and manually toggled off sleep mode, I definitely was not sedentary.

Also after my usual wake up time passed on this day, the morning report showed that I had no sleep activity for that night.

Thank you for the reply. I had exited sleep mode manually many times prior to this re-entering to sleep mode incident occurs and never once the watch re-enter to sleep mode. Only after the lastest SW update that this happened to me.

Today (17/2), I woke up at 5.50am, I left the sleep mode alone as I know it would turn back on even after I turned it off. However, the sleep mode turned off on its own at 6.30am and it generated a morning report at that hour for me. Now, it's 8.53am, the sleep mode is turned back on.

It is. I don't know why it's even a feature to go back into sleep mode to begin with. I hope they fixes this. The last time I emailed them about morning report generating an hour earlier than it should, they said I've moved enough for the watch to detect that I'm awake.

Today, my watch went back into sleep mode on its own after it generated the morning report. I don't know what's up.

This happens to me a few times when I have a run event that starts at midnight (2AM/3AM/4AM flagoff times). It is annoying, but as Garmin rep said, starting an activity will stop it from having the watch go back to sleep. I have put the hotkey to turn off sleep mode for this purpose (GPS+ABC on my Instinct2X) because most races to where I am from is starting on Midnight.
