The Bluetooth on my watch is no longer flashing and there fore not syncing. What do I do? Is it broken?

For the last few days, my instinct 2 has been disconnected from Bluetooth. When I looked properly today, I noticed it's no longer flashing blue underneath, it is not detectable as a device and I can't pair with my phone. It worked about a week ago when I last used it and it's just been sat in a drawer since. It's filled charged and still working as a watch, I just can't get Bluetooth to work

  • noticed it's no longer flashing blue underneath,

Not sure what this means. The watch does not have anything flashing blue anywhere to show it's connected. The only lights flashing underneath are the heart rate sensor LEDs and they're green.

Follow these instructions ensuring the watch is removed from the phone's bluetooth settings and GCM before you start - https://support.garmin.com/en-US/?faq=nvCECLZzFu7UzXdBlDlVY5

If you're still having problems after that, contact Garmin Support.

I am sorry to hear you are having trouble with this. For this, I would recommend trying some initial troubleshooting steps.

    • Ensure the phone OS is on the latest SW version.
    • Use the following steps to try pairing the watch from scratch:
    1. Uninstall the Connect Mobile app
    2. Clear the phone cache and history
    3. Ensure the watch does not appear in the phone's Bluetooth menu. If it is, please remove the device
    4. Powercycle the watch and phone. To do this, hold the Light button until this shuts off. Then power on again
    5. Reinstall the Connect Mobile app
    6. Try the pairing again ( Be sure there are no other Bluetooth enabled device nearby)

Place the watch in pairing mode, and try pairing again with the Connect app.

    • If there is no change, I would recommend trying a factory reset with these steps:
    1. Ensure the watch is powered off.
      • You may need to hold CONTROLfor up to 30 seconds to turn the watch off.
    2. Press and hold SET and GPS.
    3. Press CONTROL to power the watch on while holding these two buttons.
    4. After the first beep release GPS.
    5. After the second beep release the remaining button.

    Then try the pairing again.

If there is no change, the watch may need to be replaced. For this, I would recommend reaching out to Garmin Product Support.
