Softwareversions for Instinct Crossover

Hi,

I  bought a crossover just 4 weeks ago and it showed a softwareversion 3.10.

Now it seems a 16.11 version has been automatically downloaded and is waiting to be installed...

I am now wondering: Have there really been 13 main-versions since the launch of the crossover??

And since any kind of update always comes with some risks: can anyone tell me whether these 13 versions were worthwhile? I haven't noticed any issue as of now that would have varranted an update...

Thanks for any input!

    Greetings!

I bought my Instinct Crossover in December 2022, it had Software Version 2.04.

There have indeed been many software updates over the last 2 years so that I am now running Software Version 16.11 which I installed last August.

In my experience, every update was better than the one before. Stability and functionality are better with the latest software.

I strongly encourage you to update to the latest Software Version 16.11 - it is the best option to assure continued reliable operation of your watch.

Just a short note further to my last:

Since there have been numerous updates since your version 3.10 like Time Zone Maps, Language files, Sensor Hub software, etc., not just system software, I would strongly suggest plugging into a computer running Garmin Express and updating ALL your software that way.

Using Garmin Express with a hardwire connection to your computer can avoid many issues that might arise updating so much software wirelessly.

  • Thanks for your input, really appreciated!

Eventually, I didn't have much of a choice as the watch just went ahead and installed the already downloaded Update. I thought I would have had the final say on whether or not to actually install it, turns out it wasn't the case. So 16.11 is now installed and all seems normal...

What would you say were the major feature additions across all these updates that I should now check out?

  • Oh Lord...

Doesn't give me that warm and cosy feeling seeing how many times it states "Fixed ..." but hey, better have a fix, right?

    Thanks for that thorough compilation
