Instinct 2X Update

Dear Garmin,

it is very nice that you released a "new" software updated Instinct 3 watch, BUT Instinct 2X users have been waiting for 6 months for a software update for the watch, which has not arrived, and which other and cheaper models also received. We are not waiting for an updated "new" watch model!!

We paid a lot of money to buy a watch that is almost 20 months old. Should we take this to mean that support for the watch ended after one year? And should we pay another hundreds of dollars for a "new" updated model?

  • Any actual new features in 17.01? Or is it just a meaningless number bump?

  • I used to have a routine of charging every weekend and didnt worry about total number of days the watch battery would last. I had multiple activities etc. After an injury I didnt use any activity for an extended period. I thought of testing maximum duration during my down period.. Then I noticed a calibration problem. The battery starts at 28 days at 100%. Then the next day after 24 hrs it is 94% 25 days. Then 24 hrs later 87% 23 days.. Five days after a full charge it shows 62% 11 days.12 days after full charging it shows 14% 3 days then dies overnight. It just doesnt make sense. The battery calibration is messed up. There was no change in useage between 1 day and the next.

    A second issue for me is incorrect altitude. I calibrate manually everyday but cant seem to make the watch show correct altitude.

  • I noticed draining or calibration issues too, not sure which is real, after full charge or long activities. Thus i got around that with soft reset the watch after each run or full charge. Now the watch can last more than 2 weeks before each charge, with plenty of activities in between.
