Hello,
I am looking for a surf watch.
The cheaper, the more minimalist, the better.
My main requirement is to precisely track my movements by GPS and then be able to export the .GPX file that I will analyze on my PC later on.
I need a top notch GPS.
A wave only lasts a few seconds, I need to capture the acceleration, speed and position at any time.
Last generation GPS chips aka Airoha chipset + multiband (dual-frequency) is a must.
I have no interest for tides, heart rate or other fitness indicators.
As a daily wearable, pay and music are nice to have but not a must.
I would like to avoid large watches as it's mutually exclusive with this kind of impact sport.
The smaller the better.
So, which options do I have with Garmin?
I originally saw the Instinct 2, especially because it has a surf version.
But I saw that it has older GPS chips, not accurate.
Only the 2x has the good GPS chipset but it's not multiband (dual-frequency).
Is the Instinct3 planned to release anytime soon?
Would the Garmin 255/265 be a good option?
I know it is only 5ATM but I could put it in an IPX8 waterproof bag around my neck like I do for my car keys, absolutely waterproof.
Any other suggestion with Garmin or others?
Cheers
