With 16.11 firmware battery collapsed to basically 24h-30h, became a one-day watch.
How many more people have the same problem?
How do I go back to the previous firmware, does anyone have a link?

I have exactly the same issue. i have disabled some features, as reducing the backlight brightness, turning off pulse OX , but the battery lasts less than 14 hours, even not using any of it's sports features…
Mine are draining 4x quicker (last week instead of month) since last two week or so. They also started given me low heartrate alerts out of blue, connection with Iphone is also very unstable so I'm using…

Same. Only 2S Solar. It is so bad I contacted the support and thinking about turning my piece in as a faulty one and getting a paid swap for a new piece. The watch is something over 2 years old, so no warranty for me. I am sad. You can sh*ttalk Apple for single day battery as much as you want but hey it is my life now with a definitely not old Garmin device.
Edit: also the watch now fails to record and show HR sometimes, too
Same. It happened immediately after an update. I have 16.11 and the change of battery drain was within 24 hours of the update. I have a Garmin instinct solar 2. I've master reset 2 times and tried for a couple days using strictly power saver mode and it still doesn't last 24 hours. I've turned off all the features for phone connectivity and GPS. Still no improvement.
Happened exactly the same way to me too. Did all the the steps and it's still a 24h watch :/
Same situazione here. Instinct 2s solar buyed less than one year ago. Tried recalibration more than once with no results. How can a firmware update lead to an unusable watch?
I cannot wrap my head around it too. Waiting for the next software update in hopes that it will fix that issue but so far this is one day watch - absolutely atrocious.
The same situation with me as well, after the update the watch discharges very quickly. I don't use PulsOx and BT is not always on. I bought the watch because it lasted a long time but now I have to check before the training if it is over 50% charged so that it survives. The behavior is also not consistent. The battery level drops very quickly from 100% to 80%, then it takes longer from 80% to 50%, and then it drops rapidly to zero. I hope it's not a trick to motivate customers to buy a new watch. For me, it would be a reason to change the brand.
After trying everything that was suggested here, now the battery does not charge at all. I hope the same thing doesn't happen to you guys. It's a cursed time that I decided not to buy a dumb Casio as a watch for everyday use and opted for the Instinct Solar 2x, thinking that I wouldn't have to worry about constantly recharging the battery.
Yeah, this seems a lot like planned obsolescence. The fact that there STILL isn't a reply/update/fix shows me they are apathetic towards this widespread problem. Definitely switching back to fitbit after purchasing this $500 useless watch. It just isn't usable anymore for any functions going from 15+ days to around 10 hours then dead. Can't even use any of the functions because it won't stay charged past my work day.
The fact that there STILL isn't a reply
Are you waiting for a reply after contacting Garmin Support? How did you contact Garmin Support?
Yes, it is sad that it seems that I2 owners have been abandoned by Garmin. Zero response here from any of the representatives, and the next software beta update 17.00 has no notes about the battery problem. It seems that no one from Garmin looks at this forum, it does not really matter what we write here.
