Instinct 2x Tactical: Quiet Notification Noise

I know this has been talked about a few times on the forums but I've never seen any type of response from Garmin.

Purchased a 2x Tactical coming from a first gen Instinct. My wife is still using her first instinct and the difference between the notification beep is crazy. It has to be dead quiet to hear the 2x and I'm finding myself relying on the vibration (which I'm nervous about because my 1st gen Instinct's vibration motor kicked the bucket and had to be replaced). Her watch I can hear from across the room. For a watch that was significantly more expensive, it's one feature that feels like a massive downgrade.

If there's any news on a fix or something that other people have done to fix it let me know!

By that logic, it shouldn't have a spectacularly bright white torch either.

OK, I did not know that. I was talking about the the Notification Alerts, Alarm, Activity pacing alerts etc. in which you can choose between tone or vibration or both…

Exactly, just like you can disable alerts when you don't want it. But when you do want to meaningfully use it as intended…

The logic lies in the green color, instead of the red LED, of the normal models.

Of course, I know that green is better for stealth. You said military watches should not make loud noises. So if it is dangerous to be heard, why is it not dangerous to be seen (with a bright white LED)?

Why would you use the bright white light if it means danger? Just don't use it!

Exactly, just like you can disable alerts when you don't want it. But when you do want to meaningfully use it as intended, the torch delivers but the audio tone doesn't, since it is way too low.

Anyway this problem of low tone is not specific to the tactical version alone. I observed it even in my regular I2X when I got it (https://forums.garmin.com/outdoor-recreation/outdoor-recreation/f/instinct-2-series/345125/instinct-2x-solar---abysmally-low-alarm-sound), just like many others have as you can see in the Related posts in the sidebar.

In my opinion, it is not a problem at all for a tactical watch. Since it's not a speaker, but only a piezo, you can't change the volume.
It should always be low on a tactical watch.

Cool. That's, like, your opinion. In my book, if I choose to have an audible notification, I prefer to be able to hear it. Otherwise it's pretty much pointless.
