Instinct 2 APAC is still v14.13

Instinct 2 ROW is v16.11, but APAC is still v14.13.

I understand that Asian character is not compatible with hardware, but update is too late.

Will APAC watch be update in the future?

I was told that the Apac doesn't get anymore updates. As long the Garmin team on this forum doesn't debunked that I have to accept that 14.xx is the latest version on my watch.

Don't get too emotional in this topic. The Garmin team has closed a lot of topics where customers asked for Apac's updates

I guess what everyone is asking is whether the APAC edition of Instinct 2 watches is going to be updated at all. That fact that your Taiwanese branch does not update you about their plans. And I really think you should do something about it.

Honestly, 14.12 is already 7 months old and in the meantime the RoW version got 15.xx, 16.xx and even got a 17.xx beta a month ago.

On my mind, it is apparent that the Asian branch has great troubles to cram the additional Unicode character sets together with all the new features and fixes of the latest firmware versions, into the very limited memory of Instinct 2, and I do not quite believe they will ever release the recent firmware in APAC version, for that reason.

If you really need the latest firmware, then I recommend contacting your local support and trying to exchange your watch for the 2X or Crossover models that have double the size of the memory, and they come in the true World Wide version only (all languages in the same firmware, and no APAC separation).

As discussed in several threads, the fact is that customers did not know until they purchased that the APAC and RoW models were separate. Even if updates are technically slow, if they had known that from the beginning, they would have bought that one, and it is not practical to replace it now.

I faced similar issue with my old Garmin Instinct 2 APAC edition. Sold that watch and got myself 2X APAC. No more slow update.
