Is the Instinct 2 series going to get any new features?

We've been overlooked in Q1 and Q2 updates. No automatic triathlon transitions, no sleep coach, no find my phone (gps). I'm starting to regret that I chose Instinct 2X instead of let's say FR955. I get that Instincts are a bit underpowered but I doubt that these features require that much horsepower. Just to remind you all, 2X was released last year and it's starting to feel outdated. Is it too much to ask?

  • Very unlikey that it will get new features. It has very limited hardware.

  • They won't even fix or acknowledge bugs. so no.

  • Not too sure whether I misunderstood your pt on triathlon, I came from 955 (gave it to my son)... and its a triathlon watch...and even then also need assisted transition:

anyway, besides being a more sluggish watch, it had most features and batt life much more expensive garmin have too.. all system multiband GPS, HRV etc.

  • I totally accept Garmin's decision, and I'm really glad we had our fair share of new features

Tbh I didn't even expect this much, as a long time I2 solar user I can't even count how many new things are here, which I didn't exactly pay for (I exchanged my I1 with a guy for very little money)

But I feel a bit sorry for I2X users, as they didn't get to be happy for the coming new features and I still feel like Garmin could have added lap undo for example, to make them a bit happier too, it shouldn't have taken up much storage or processing power

  • It only feels outdated because you’re seeing the “new shiny” from other models. The 2X is a tank and a great training device. This is like comparing a base model Ford Maverick to Platinum F-150. If your purchase does exactly what it’s supposed to, why be upset that a flagship gets more updates? Even if it’s feasible to bring software updates over, it may not be the priority. It’s always been Fenix, Fenix Variants, Forerunners, Instinct. Remember it was not too long ago, the I2 had training readiness and the morning report in beta, it was removed (because of fears of processing overload), and then subsequently brought back. That is probably what they’re dealing with now.

  • I understand your argument to point.

But there would be features - like e.g. new activities as for example the inline skating activity that a lot of the other watches got as part of an update this year - that definitely should be possible with the CPU, Storage and RAM of the Instinct Series.

So not even supplying such updates is definitely not a hardware but a marketing issue in my view.
