Hello, I bought an Instinct 2 this week.
I am using it since Tuesday evening and now (Wednesday evening or Thursday morning) also connected the watch to my smartphone (via the Garmin Connect App).
I tried to also install some Apps with the Garmin QI app but the app says that I have to update the watch first.
Unfortunately the watch and even the Garmin Connect app say that there is no software update available. The software version is at 5.21 right now, which seems to be pretty outdated. Toggling auto-update in the watch settings or the app(s) settings doesn't help. Also putting the watch to the power cable (so it's not "in-use") didn't trigger an update. I double checked that the Garmin Connect app is allowed to work in the background on my smartphone and is not blocked by power-saving options or similar.
What I noticed is the low space that the IQ app is listing as free on my device: Only 512KB free or 32 apps (0 installed at the moment). Is this the regular space available on the watch when it's new?
Why is the Garmin Connect app lying about the software version to be the most recent one? How can I force an update? As I am a Linux user, I have no access to the Windows-application "Garmin Express", which I hope will not be necessary to be able to use the Instinct 2. (That would result in a refund of the then not-usable watch)
Is there maybe a manual way (e.g. by downloading a patch file and putting it onto the internal storage via a USB connection) to force an update? If so, where to download the latest version manually?
