Update strategy

So I just want to hear others opinions...

I saw that a Fenix 6 got a massive update just now, and I was wondering about the logic behind all this.

Here's the Instinct 2 series, basically stuck without meaningful updates for months, still having some bugs existing from the beginning and since the last added features the equally priced 255 series got many new features, many of which wouldn't require more memory or any better hardware (lap undo for example).

The series is still being sold and the I2x is not even a year old at this point, while the F6 series is nearly 5 years old, have one and a half generation of successors and is not being sold anymore (at least in my country for sure).

Don't get me wrong, I bought the I2 solar for what it had that time, more than impressed with how much new features we got since that and I totally respect, how long Garmin supports the F6... I just don't get the logic behind all this. Why support something that won't make you any more money better, than something users still can buy?

I'm just curious what you are thinking
