Combining a workout with a Garmin coach workout

The Garmin Coach workouts are a little ridiculous. I want to run a little faster but the watch keeps buzzing every 30 seconds letting me know I'm on or off pace (on a treadmill and the sensor is usually wrong). Can I adjust the "Coach" workout to what I think I need to do or combine an existing exercise for the day into Garmin Coach's workout. I have just been skipping past the intervals (walk, run, cool down) because it below what I can do. Or should I re-run the baseline and start over?

  • The Garmin Coach plans are non-editable.  They are calculated behind the scenes and sent to your watch.

    If you want a bit more control over individual workouts, you should look at the Self-Guided Plans.  They are pre-planned training programs, but you are allowed to edit the individual workouts from your Garmin Connect Calendar.  Once you save your edits, the workout is re-sync'd to your watch.

    I've moved from the Garmin Coach programs to the Self-Guided plans for this very reason.
