Instinct2 battery draining quickly

I have the same problem ,battery discharged for 12 hours 5%, without any activity 

my software version
SV -15.06 

GPS-8.07

CIQ 3.4.4

BMX 14.0.5

BLE/ANT 1.04

SNS 27.11

Principally, there does not seem to be any unusual battery drain with the new firmware, but similar issues after a firmware update are common and reoccurring each quarter. Soft reset alone is not sufficient to fix the issue.

First of all you have to connect the watch to a computer with Garmin Express, make some free space on the storage, check for updates with GE, and install any remaining pending components (the firmware update often comes in several parts). Once done and installed, do the reset, and then go twice through the full charging cycle.

Thanks for the info Trux, but I have a question why can't Garmin work on this recurring issue which is happening whenever there is a new firmware update ? Your answer clearly says this happens with every new firmware update. 

One more point is if we need to always connnect watch to a computer with Garmin Express and check for remaining pending update then why do we have OTA feature? Is it not possible to make all components pushed OTA? 

Can Garmin consider this request and provide a permanent solution than guiding users to do troubleshooting every time we have an update.

That's what happens, but the OTA downloads are quite slow and unreliable for some reason. Additionally there is no feedback when the download fails because of low storage, or because of other reasons, and there is no feedback when the update fails. That's exactly why I advise in the guide, disabling the auto-updates entirely, and only doing them over the cable.

Yes, I've disabled auto-update now. As you insist just can't rely on OTA anymore.

Yes, you can roll back. You can find v14.12 in the side-load beta v15 packages on the Beta Program forum. Just note, that you will have to reconfigure the watch, since the downgrade acts in the same way as the master reset to factory defaults.

Reset to factory defaults ? Will I lose my data after the rollback? Can you please share the link to follow for rollback if available.

You will lose settings. I do not remember whether all data is removed too or not, though. However, data that was already synced to Garmin Connect will stay there.

I was able to find Beta Version 14.12 download link (forums.garmin.com/.../beta-version-14-12---available-ota) but not for the final release version (forums.garmin.com/.../14-12-now-live).

Are both the same? Can I go ahead and download beta 14.12 and install?
