Voice per lap only gives time of lap

I set up a workout and get audio for the end of each lap and the time only. I also seem to get lap reports at the end of each Km also. My watch is new and mostly so to default values. How can I get it to say the details of the lap at the start? E.g. run 6 min at 6.20 to 6.30 pace.

Have a look at the options of the Audio Prompts in the Device Settings » Phone. You can configure them to your liking.

Thanks. I found that. Lap Alert: On. Pace/Speed Alert: On. Heart Rate Alert: On. Power Alert: Off

It does not seem to tell me the lap distance consistently. Should it say 1.6 k next lap, 300m recovery, etc?

Most of the time I am not running to a created workout session, but I do 1 or 2 a week. In those cases, it gives an alert every lap, the lap being one that is set in the workout as well as every km. When doing a workout how can you have alerts only occurring for the workout lap not every km?

No, it should tell you the time, pace/speed, HR, power value of the last lap (done), not the planned next lap info.

You can either use the interval option (Alert Frequency - you can choose between 1 to 10 minutes) at individual alerts (pace, hr, power) and turning off the lap alerts, or you can change the auto-lap distance. Or you can trigger the lap manually, using the lap button, or the activity menu.

Oh. That's not much use to me. Is there any way to know what to do for the next lap?

So there is no way to have it work dynamically depending on the workout session you have setup in Garmin connect? That's very poor. (I can't figure out how you reply with quotes)

I am not 100% sure, since it is a while I used a structured workout together with audio prompts, but as far as I remember, the lap audio prompts come at the end of each workout step (which is an equivalent of a lap). So yes, it is "dynamic" from this point of view - if you meant that it adjusts to the length of laps (workout steps) automatically.

100% correct. But as in my OP you also get notifications at the end of a 1km lap I believe.

I am finding it very unusable anyway as there's no advance notification of what's coming and if your plan has complexity in the session it can be hard to remember.

As I wrote, you can disable the 1km auto-laps, or change their distance
