Instinct 2 stopped recording distance

Hm, indeed strange. I see no usual suspects:

• no external sensor that could be the culprit
• no CIQ apps that could intefere
• all the trackpoints of the map are all right, hence no GPS problem (distance of the GPS track is 6.46 km)
• the pace / speed is correctly recorded and credible
• the cadence and the steps are also recorded (8542 steps), hence the accelerometer works 
• it does not seem to be a corruption of the activity file, since the distance is wrong at all trackpoints, while all other values are all right

The distance works only the first 120s of the activity (17 trackpoints), where it stopped at 113m. Unfortunately, I do not see why.

To fix this specific activity, you can edit it, and change the total distance to 6.46 km. Then test another short hike (just a few minutes), and see whether the problem persists. If it does, then do the soft reset of the watch - sync, then hold the Light button for 30s (keep holding through the assistance alert!) till the watch shuts down, then wait a few seconds, and restart. No data and no settings get lost.

If it does not help, you should try the master reset to factory defaults. And if it does not help either, then reach out to the Support through their website at https://support.garmin.com
