The Reference Point app on my Instinct 2 standard edition is displaying random distances and bearings in my list of saved locations.
These frequently change when I haven't moved and sometimes change by thousands of miles as I look at the list.
Today two locations in central London which are within a short walk of each other were displayed in impossible locations:
- Liverpool Street station was 4753.3 miles North. It then changed to 0.1 miles South East .
- The Shard was 3584.1 miles South. It then changed to 3581.8 miles South.
If I save my current location it can be several miles away the next time I look at the list.
If I select any saved location using "Select Point" the compass displays the expected distance, bearing and deviation. So the list is wrong and the compass is right.
These errors do not seem to occur in my saved locations list used by the Navigate, Hike and Walk activities.
GPS tracking of my activities is precise and accurate.
My saved locations are correctly positioned on the Explore map and the watch map.
I have powered off and also used the system menu to reset settings to default and delete my data.
Garmin Express informs me that my software is up to date.
My watch system is:
- Software version 14.12 (30c71f0)
- CPE is current
- GPS 6.70
- CIQ 3.4.3
- BMX 14.0.5
- BLE/ANT 1.04
- SNS 27.11
I would appreciate any comments, suggestions or assistance that would help determine if this is my user error, corrupted firmware, a bug or a faulty watch.
