No solar charging in Instinct 2 Solar?

Recently I found that my Instinct 2 Solar ONE PIECE LUFFY edition (Chinese version) cannot charge by solar energy once it was charged by USB. I noticed this problem in Garmin Connect app -> Solar Intensity. No solar intensity data for a few days after USB charging, even when the battery level has already dropped below 90%.

The software version is 13.21.

I am sorry you have the issue. Your specific issue is a software bug that was resolved in the new v14.12 software update. All SE Asia/APAC watches are updated after a lengthy translation phase before receiving the same software update. It can be between 2-5 months but your watch will be receiving the same software fix as soon as possible.

After each time you charge your watch, please long hold your top left CTRL button until your watch shuts off then let go of the button. When you power your watch on again, your solar charging will function properly again.

Hi Laurie,
It's a public issue we're not alone. You can find many users with some search.
And just to complain more: heart rate, and sleep tracker are totally useless if someone has tattoos on arms.
TD Bank doesn't support Garminpay. So it wasn't the best $435 I've ever spent...

This forum and the update posted by Garmin-Chris was referencing the APAC-Luffy version of the Instinct 2 Solar. So I reached out to you directly, to specifically speak to your model of the watch. Since you are still reporting this concern, I want to be able to investigate what you are specifically seeing.

Restart will help.

When I use a regular wall charger there's no problem. Instinct 2s, 14.12

yes but I shouldn't have to restart the watch for solar charging to work.

it was a known bug last year and 14.12 was supposed to fix it but clearly not the case for everyone.
