Instinct 2 not turning on and not charging after long idle time

Hello,
Had my Instinct 2 lying idle for about 4 months, the battery has run out in the meantime
Put it on charge yesterday and left it there for ~12 hours, this morning when taking it off saw that it still displays an empty battery in the middle of the screen and does not react to any buttons
Tried different usb to socket converters and a direct usb connection, but the charging still does not start
The charging cable looks intact and has only been used for a few full charges
Is it possible that there is already an issue with the charging cable, or should I look into repairing the watch itself?
Has anyone faced the same?

  • I am sorry you have the issue. You can try a Hard Reset by holding down your top left button for 30 seconds while your watch is unplugged then perform the same step again when being charged. If your watch does not respond, please reach out to Outdoor Product Support in your region.

My Garmin Watch or Edge Device Will Not Turn On

I personally try to keep up with what is said in general about Lithium-Ion battery technology. Any smartphone or device using the battery, it is recommended to keep the battery charged to around 50% until you use the device again. It will help avoid the potential that the battery will choose to 'shut down' to remain stable.
