Garmin instinct 2 surf vs regular instinct 2

Hi guys, I am thinking about buying a Garmin instinct 2. It will be used mainly to surf but also to run.

The think is that the surf edition is terrible ugly and spending more than 250 euros in an ugly is, well, a think that I would love to avoid. So, can you please tell me if I can use the regular instinct 2 to surf? Does it come with the same surf app from Garmin (I no not mean third part apps)? Thank you

  • Hello, yes it does, it was added in an software update as well as the Tides app.

  • Well, the surf app is a Real *** !

It doesn't work on the surf édition, it miss almost half of the wavecount ... make very strange behavior , and you have to choose : wavecount tracking (put the watch overhead thé wetsuit but hen you dont have Heart rate or Heart rate count (put the watch under your wetsuit) but then you loose tracking.

Regarding the tide, it is totaly out of specs, i mean i have almost 1m off AT high and low tide on m'y homespot which make it totaly useless.

So, you should not care much about thoses not working feature and choose the watch on design !
