Heart rate refresh 1 time per minute on Instinct 2s.

Hi all? How do I switch back to real-time? Problem since update and sync (received yesterday). I had to work hard to reconnect it after the update. Watch removed from GC app, GE, etc. Watch reset several times, in short I did everything but the heart rate works for a few seconds and then refreshes every minute at the same time as the change of minutes. Sorry for my English I speak French and use google translate.

  • In which activity profile are you experiencing the problem?

  • the heart rate works for a few seconds and then refreshes every minute at the same time as the change of minutes

That is a power saving feature of the watch. To view the HR in real-time you have several options:

    • Watch the heart rate on the Garmin Connect app - it refreshes in real time even when the display of the watch is in the power saving mode
    • Move the hand, it wakes up the watch, and seconds + HR will be refreshed in real-time again
    • Start an activity (for example Cardio). You can also let it run in the background, if you prefer using the main watchface
    • Start heart rate broadcasting (i.e. through the Controls menu)
  • Hello, I have never had any problems with the original energy saving watch... I had the instinct 1, the instinct 1 tactical, the instinct 2, the instinct 2 solar, the crossover instinct and here the 2s instinct. This is the first to do this to me after this update and this synchronization on first switch on. In Garmin Connect no problem, in an activity no problem, in broadcast no problem. Just on the Watch faces... In my opinion the update damaged a setting on the watch since I had trouble reconnecting it... How could I reinstall an earlier version? Or do something else?

  • Just Watch face. Not activity profile. Slight smile

  • In my opinion the update damaged a setting on the watch since I had trouble reconnecting it...

The change is intentional in order to save some more energy. It is not a problem, it is an improvement. As I wrote you have several options how you can monitor your heart rate live (moving the wrist, or using the app, or an activity running in the background, or an activity on the foreground, or heart rate broadcasting)

How could I reinstall an earlier version?

You can visit the Beta Program Forum (see the top menu), and downgrade to a roll-back firmware version from a side-load beta firmware package. The instructions are available on that forum, and the readme files in the side-load package, too.
