Here is additional cleaning information that should help you get your watch even cleaner.
Man.. do you wipe dry the watch after rinsing it with tap water? Wipe it dry after rinsing because salt crystals dry out .. My old Casio happened to be like that.
do you wipe dry the watch after rinsing it with tap water?
It is not critical to be dry. You can set it aside to allow your watch to be dried. At a minimum, you should shake the watch extremely well to remove as much water as possible out of the ports to ensure less residue drying and building up inside either the temperature or barometric altimeter sensor ports.
Thank you for your suggestions. I do all the above, dry ot most of the times, cleaning it with a soft xloth but the white keeps remaining.
Yours garmin don't get such dirt?
Thank you
My old watch did. I used to rinse it and not wiping it out often. The water in Greece is very hard. My Garmin Instinct 2 bought since april is still like new.

I just checked my almost 2 years old Instinct 2 with a magnifying glass, and I do not have any such deposits anywhere on it. And frankly told, I never cleaned it with any brush, and also do not care much about drying it after rinsing. All I do it is rinsing it quickly after each sweaty activity, and letting it for some 10-20 minutes in clean water after swimming or diving in the sea.
I use it daily outdoors, and often in the sea. Nothing of it results in such dirt, so I wonder what exactly you do with the watch. Isn't it a soap residue? Or is the tap water hardness exceptionally high in your location? Do you work with some chemicals, in construction industry, or similar?
I am mathematician so no chemichals or industry :-)
In every watch i had after a workout, i cleaned it with a soft toothbrush, wipe it with soft xloth and left it to dry .
Always had these dirt which is mostly of the water hardness.
How can i clean it because it is intolerable.
Thank you
How do you handle water hardness in Greece?
How can i clean it because it is intolerable.
Well, if it were not a watch, you could use vinegar for removing limescale, but that would do no good to the sealing, and to other parts of the watch, so that's to be avoided. Try distilled water or 90% alcohol.
I used 5ml vinegar in 95ml of water in my previous watch and the barometer stopped working... :-)
So, i will try 90% alcohol since i tried distilled water.
Thank you
