It seems to be pretty week, it stays forever to find the location. Ive tried various configurations (Galileo, Glonast etc). Can I do something about it?
Also, anyone knows if 2s or 2x GPS is better, like finding the location in forest? Thanks.

Difference between 2 and 2X is like night and day for the good of 2X.
I tend to let the watch find the GPS signal before I enter the forest - once a signal is found, tracking in the forest works quite well.
But starting an activity with GPS in a dense canopy is often difficult, that's true. (Instinct 2)
This send to be a good idea, I will try it. I remember it finds the location easier once first connected.
I didn't have a problem with the 2S and I don't have it now with the 2X in the woods. Do you have current CPE in your watch?
What is CPE?
So basically a procedure can be:
- Sync before the trip
- Open GPS and locate in open space, before entering the forest
Actually the GPS should be on and the location ready before the sync, to get accurate satellite info for the current position ..

No, that would be little bit odd if for calculating the position from the satellite data you'd need to know your position first. The ephemeris data file is global - it is the same file for everyone, regardless where you are.
I found that safer than syncing over BT, is syncing over the USB cable to Garmin Express. While the CPE file updates over the USB each time, I saw it updated much less frequently when syncing with Garmin Connect over BT. Besides that, there is a risk of interrupted download, if you start syncing as you head out of the house, and the phone shortly drops the connection due to the swapping from WiFi to mobile data.
"This data needs to be refreshed if the product has not been used in over 30 days, or when it has traveled more than 200 miles from its last satellite connection."
So I dont think its the same file for everyone, it seems to be more related to current location...
