How many continuous hours of activity tracking before running out of storage? Instinct 2 Solar

Does anyone know how many kb per hour the Instinct 2 Solar uses to record? I'll be using the Max Battery or Ultratrac GPS mode, is one of these better than the other from a storage perspective?

I will be going after the fastest known time on a 450 mile trail, anticipating it taking 7-9 days. The instinct 2 solar seems to be my best option as far as battery life goes, but I'm worried I'll fill up the storage. I will have very limited battery and service so I won't be uploading activities to the garmin connect app.

What about Expedition mode? Very restrictive regarding sensor use and GNSS acquisition sample rate (15min at best), but is made for your case.

In terms of data the Ultratrac mode will produce a lot less data than any normal GPS (or GPS + Galileo etc) mode.

However for some the Ultratrac track accuracy is not so good so testing this mode is a good idea.

Of some interest is that new 2X now has a gyroscope (previous Instinct 1/2 models don’t) which may lead to improved tracking - but this needs to be verified.

Just do a few day hikes and see what their respective files sizes are on the watch. Also see how much storage is free on the watch.

You can find this by simply mounting the storage on a computer
