Instinct 2X Bluetooth does not work at all with my Samsung S23 Ultra

Just sold my Instinct 2 Solar and got the new 2X. My hope was that bluetooth would be improved. But in fact it's even worse! I'm even not able to setup my watch through the phone app as the connection is getting lost every minute.

Does anyone know a trick? I've tried to disable WLAN, stopped the App in the settings, cleared App cache and data. Nothing helps.

Installed the latest Firmware onto the watch.

Which software version has your watch ? On the watch go to : System -> Info.

Ah, ok. Did you do a soft reset after the update to 12.26 by pressing the light button for about 30 seconds (until the watch turns off) ?

Ah, this is not documented for the update process. But, tried this now and the first sync after the restart with Connect App was unable to finish. Does not help.

I had exactly the same problem with my tactix 7 pro and firmware 11.28. all kinds of resets and removing the watch from Connect did not help.
Then came the update to 13.22 and the problem was solved for me, while others obviously continue to have problems with it. It is not consistently the same behavior.

Some Samsung's models are notoriously known for BT problems. First of all check whether there is an OS update available for your phone. Then check also the Sync / Connection Troubleshooting Guide - there are several hints specifically addressed to Samsung owners, so hopefully some of them helps you, but you can check the other ones too.

My 6X Pro has worked perfectly. Sold this too. For me the Instinct 2 bluetooth never worked reliable.

My Instinct 2 works without issues both with a noname Android phone, as well as with an iPhone

Maybe it really is Samsung's fault in your case. However. The phone was not the problem in my case, because it worked before 11.28 (tactix). And also with 13.22 again works well. Iphone IOS 16.5/16.6 Beta. I have never had this problem with my Instinct watches.

I also recommend checking the Device Sync Audit on the app (see the bottom of the Setting menu) after the unsuccessful sync. It may reveal some details why the sync failed. Sometimes it can be due to a corrupted file, and you may need to sync over the USB cable to Garmin Express, or remove and fix the file manually. Again, more details in the troubleshooting guide.
