Dismissal of multiple notifications at once. Am I missing something?

I have my Garmin Instinct 2 (non-solar using Android App) set to show me notifications only from Outlook, Gmail, Facebook Messenger and Facebook.  I get notifications throughout the day, and I look at them briefly as they come in but don't want to distract myself from my tasks at hand to dismiss them as they arrive.  Within a few hours, I have 18-20 or so notifications...and the only way I can figure out how to dismiss them is to button press through them one at a time...3 button pushes per notification...one to "select" the notification, one to bring up the option to dismiss the notification and the third time to actually dismiss it.  It's MADDENING and horribly inefficient from a user experience perspective.  So...two part question.  #1 Is there any way for the Android to do this with the phone or at least in a more efficient manner?  #2 Do we feel as a group this would be a feature request worth pursuing?  Or maybe it's already been requested (I'm guessing it has been requested hundreds if not thousands of times...but perhaps not).  Any advice is appreciated.

Yes, if you dismiss the notifications in bulk on the phone, they clear up from the watch too

Requesting it here on the forum has little to no effect. I rather recommend suggesting it t Garmin through the form at Share Ideas | Garmin

  • You can clear all your notifications from your phone (usually with one button) expanding the notification bar and hitting Clear/Clear all depending on phone model or you can only dismiss certain notifications. These notifications will be cleared from the watch too.

I am using Samsung and Pixel.

  • Hi Trux and Ducutu.  Thank you for the responses!  You are indeed correct!  Dismissing them on your phone does clear them from the watch.  For some reason, that didn't appear readily apparent to me the first couple of weeks of having the watch, but based on your responses, I set up some experiments to test, and you're right, it does work...maybe not 100% of the time, but I can't quite be sure.  :)  I still wish there was a 'dismiss all' option on the watch itself to dismiss all notifications in bulk without touching your phone, but maybe that will come sometime in a future update.

I suspect that maybe part of my problem is that my phone is 'partitioned' by 3rd party software to make accessing my work e-mail thru Outlook separate from my personal phone stuff (essentially I have two tabs on my app menu on the phone...Personal and Work). It's something my company insists on to have the privilege of being able to check your work e-mail on your phone. :)  I believe that might confuse the watch a bit.  That's just a suspicion, though.

Thank you again for your help.
