I have a Garmin Instinct 2X and, as in every watch in this series, during the configuration it was necessary to enter the hour of sleep. Is there any way to turn it off so the watch doesn't go into this mode?

I mean turn it off completely. Well, unfortunately it's not possible.
Sure it is:
MENU > System > Sleep Mode > Schedule > [Select Sunday] > [Set Bed Time to 0:00 and Wake Time to 0:01…
One of the problems with sleep mode is after the sleep mode the watch automatically turns off battery save mode so you have to manually switch it back on
If you need to keep some features…
Thanks for that Trux but I don’t want to switch off permanently as for example I want to check hr & pulse ox when not in active mode

I'm not sure if you can turn it off completely, however you can modify it's settings so the watch face is not changed, nor is power mode etc. Settings for this should be in same place as in regular Instinct 2: www8.garmin.com/.../GUID-10B3BD3D-5B72-4C4F-9B2D-93432AF67E43.html

Try setting the bed time and wake up time a minute apart (or perhaps even having them identical could work)

Sure it is:
MENU > System > Sleep Mode > Schedule > [Select Sunday] > [Set Bed Time to 0:00 and Wake Time to 0:01 and Apply schedule to all days you want] > Save
Then:
MENU > System > Sleep Mode > Watch Face > Don't Change < Backlight > Set to your preferences < Do Not Disturb [ Toggle On or Off to your preference] > Battery Saver > [Toggle to your preference]
Result is one minute at midnight (or whenever you want) where the watch thinks it is in Sleep Mode, but it will not be noticeable to you.
HTH

If you need to keep some features like BT, HR sensor, and others, permanenty off, then consider turning them permanently off in the settings, instead of using the Battery Saver. You can override that state, by a Power Mode that you associate with the activity profiles, were you want to turn some (or all) of the features on.

Create a custom activity called for example "HR Test", assign it a Power Mode where you enable the sensors, and when you want to check your HR & SpO₂, simply start the activity for a few seconds. You can then discard it, and you can also save it, if you want.
Thanks for that Trux I think that’s probably one of my only options available you’re obviously very knowledgeable about the device & you’ve answered my questions. 1: can you “switch off sleep mode” (no) 2: is there an option “continue with battery save mode after sleep mode” (no) nonetheless you have suggested an alternative. Any suggestions as to why Garmin don’t have the options?
thanks
