Garmin Instinct 2x Solar not updating firmware

I`ve bought a new Garmin Instinct 2X Solar from amazon and it is on 2.06 software version. All the settings on both the Android Connect app and the watch are set to auto-update, but so far the watch failed to update.

I don`t own a PC where I can use the Garmin Express app to try to solve this.

Is there anything I can try to solve this issue?

No. It will update via GCM eventually. However, it's generally a good idea to sync with Garmin Express first time out of the box..…

Don`t send it back, it`s a great watch!.... Also, it just updated out of nowhere!

Or rather, it auto-updated via the Connect app. For some reason it just took forever!

Same, updated straigh away after connecting to PC with express. The good news is that you are not missing anything like new widgets or watch faces, it's all bug fixes.

I concur received mine 2x 5 days ago, out of the box i remember vaguely an update notify. Yet still on 2.06. Was there an initial version before ? Noticed missing options which were advertised for the 2x. Then found this thread. Maybe the a fore mentioned firmware update failed and set a entry somewhere to await a new firmware update. Conjecturing here now and also those here saying connecting to Garmin connect express is a "good thing" without mentioning why it is a good thing. 2x or garmin connect online or app not being able to consume a yml file somewhere with latest version and download location of the firmware is just really bad. Garmin needs to up their game. 2 days to go still before I can return my online bought 2x and hopefully I receive the 3.11 update before. Not having windows or mac thus garmin express route is not an option for me. Garmin should really fix this as hooking something on a cable is what we did 20 years ago. Garmin was one of the last to switch to OTA updates and had enough time to think things out in a just works scenario, apparently not.

Anyone noticed that after they updated their watch from first use that the alarm tone is much lower than it was prior to the update?

This is my 3rd 2X because the first two had a lower than desired alarm tone but it was still audible, but once it updated the alarm tone was literally so low I cannot hear it at all. And it happened with 2 different watches. That's why I shut off auto update and I haven't updated this 3rd watch since I took it out of the box. I'm afraid to because if it makes the alarm tone decrease I'm going to be super angry. Lol

Anyone else noticed this issue at all?
