Sweat loss and Hydration tracking - Instinct 2X

Hi all,

I just got my Instinct 2x this week! so far very pleased with it. Very hard to kill the battery

I was wondering why there's no estimated sweat loss integrated after activities? I added the hydration tracking widget (which is very laggy btw) and set it to auto increase, but it doesn't show any estimated sweat loss data and so the hydration goal stays at the same set level (even if I change it in Garmin connect).

Am I missing something, or does the instinct 2x lack this quite simple feature? My Garmin vivomove has it...

Our engineers have indicated that the latest Public software update version 15.08 has resolved this concern. So if you install the update, you should now see the Auto Hydration Goal…

I have got the same problem with my instint solar 2x.

It does not increase the hydration after an activity.

The instinct 2 solar did it.

I hadn't actually noticed that it was no longer showing that on my activities, but it does look like the Instinct series doesn't do sweat loss calculation... That's a bit unfortunate to not include that…

That's a bit unfortunate to not include that with the Instinct 2X when it also has so many other features that things like the vivomove series doesn't have.

Hopefully they add it in a firmware update, but I certainly won't be holding my breath.

The same with my Instinct 2x Tactical.

I also noticed this issue with my Instinct 2 (non-X). Interestingly, the value gets updated when another device like an Edge uses the estimated sweat loss to increase the hydration goal.

I am sorry to hear you are having trouble with the hydration tracker. If you have the instinct 2 series on the latest software version, and you have the Auto Increase Hydration Goal set in the Connect app settings, this should increase your hydration after you record an activity. So if this is not working, I would like to collect some details regarding this to report to our engineers. I will reach out to you via Private Message for this.

It is important to note: The instinct 2 series does not track sweat loss. So while the watch will change the hydration goal when recording new activities, this will not display a sweat loss metric.

Hi!

I just downloaded the Hydration App from Garmin Connect IQ and uses it on an Instinct 2.

However, the "auto goal" option is not shown. I just see Units, Alerts and Containers on the watch. I also can adjust the goal manually on the Connect App but I would like to have the activity-dependent auto goal.

Any suggestions here? Thx!

It is important to note, this device does not support sweat loss tracking, from activities. So at this time the Auto Goal hydration tracking is not functioning.

I confirm, both sweat loss tracking and hydration goal auto increase works now.
