Pleasantly Surprised - Instinct 2X

I have owned every fenix version since they first came out. A few months ago I switched from the fenix 7x sapphire solar to the apple watch ultra. The apple watch ultra is a great watch, but is more of a smartwatch than it is a fitness watch, and I got so sick and tired of having to charge it every other day, that I decided to go back to Garmin.

I thought about getting another fenix 7x SS, but saw the new Instinct 2x solar. It looked interesting, and I was able to find one on Amazon with next day delivery, so I ordered it. I was not expecting much, but I figured if I didn't like it, I could just return it and get a fenix 7x SS.

I gotta say that this Instinct 2x solar is a great watch, and I am pleasantly surprised by it. It has many of the features of watches that are more than double the price. It's way more comfortable than the fenix 7x SS and the AWU too. Sure it's plastic and does not have a sapphire lens, but at a 450 dollar price point, it's an awesome watch.

I've had it for a couple days now. I charged it up, set it to every second recording, set it to all + dual band, have done a couple GPS workouts, and it's at 89% battery. I was a little concerned about the smaller screen (need reading glasses a lot), but this thing is very easy to read in doors and out doors. Even though it does not have full maps, it's still easy to navigate with too.

Anyone who has purchased this watch should really have nothing to complain about. Unless they got a defective one.

Just my initial impressions.
