I do not have 11.18 system Update

Hi, as Announcements stated here, the system update 11.18 is live, but 1 month passed I still don't have update available through my garmin connect, latest it 10.10. Also I tried to update side load beta 12.09, following the instrution, copying files, but nothing happened. Any guide please.

  • It's almost criminal that the latest firmware has been out 3 months ago, and our Instinct 2 is still on 10.10 and it's not complatible with all the newer Garmins now so you cannot set it as your primary wearable and primary training device. I'm using english as my device language, why would I care about other languages (PS: It is not expensive at all to get translation services, really)

    Next time I see a "Collector's Item" Garmin device, I stay far far away from it and will not buy it at all, as all you get is disappointment.

    It is not only about translations. APAC watches are different devices. Their components are not identical, because of patent issues and export limitations, and there are also differences in the software part. The question is rather why you bought an APAC device, when you do not need it, or why you did not exchange it for a ROW device right away.

    If moment_uhms is like me a first time owner.. how would he or she know there are differences in APAC or ROW models? Did Garmin's website state that?
    Did the vendor that sells them state that? 

    It was not explained anywhere what the differences were. Neither was my watch box plastered with a sticker saying it is an APAC model, which comes with these delays.  Most reviews do not even choose to mention this. I myself found out when tying to update my FW because of the ' Resume later '  Bug

    What are the SLA's for this Asian firmware then? Because the only fault we had in my opinion, was living in Asia, and choosing to purchase and support a Garmin product.


    I don't see any price difference from apac to row models so is not reasonable for us to expect the same level of ' service ' then? 

    I am not chasing for instant gratification either, I am merely looking for a way to use an existing Function on my watch without it crashing and wiping hours of data prior to the activity.

  • I don't know if I bought APAC or not, the only thing is, I got a Limited Edition, One Piece model, and it seems you only buy limited editions to display it, and not to wear it. The Garmin Crossover I have gets the firmware two days after the official firmware got released. I don't think it's a matter of componentry here. Basically I think Garmin forgot special editions exists or something.

    Two day delay is normal of all devices, and is not a problem. If you want to  get the new version faster, use Garmin Express over USB, and check for updates there. OTA updates always take a few days more.

    Contact directly Garmin in the country you live now (assuming it is not in the APAC region), and explain them that you do not need any Asian language on the watch.

    If not possible, request a refund from the original dealer because of the continuing problems, and buy a new watch of your choice where you want.

    No, the fix for that issue is removing the spring bars holding the wrist band, and demagnetizing them, or replacing them.
