It could be due to the expired ephemeris data (CPE file), or due to environmental conditions - see the documents below, for more details. You can also try powering the watch down, and then up again. Better yet, perform the soft-reset (press the Light button for some 20s till it powers off completely). It should be always the first step when coping with weird behavior of the watch.
Thank you, I did the above, and also realized I have to have more patience and wait for the GPS to respond:
I had a screen saying Acquiring signals, then some coordinates appeared, which the watch asked if I wanted to save, and then I was not sure what to do after that. Today, I just waited to see what would come next with the GPS, and a short while after the saving of the coordinates, the circle on top right eventually showed a Tick symbol, and asked if I wanted to start an activity.
hey, you can skip that step and just select the activity straight away. it will acquire the satellites as soon as you select one, then wait for the tick symbol to show up and press GPS again to start the acrivity.
