The Crossover is missing the Surf activity (as well as windsurfing and kite boarding) that the Instinct 2 has. I feel like all the activities on the Instinct 2 should be on the Crossover? Hopefully this can be added soon.

Yes, please. When I bought the Crossover it was announced it had the same features as the Instinct 2. I waited till I could update to v11.18, but it is still missing activities that I was using like Surf…
The software is a complete mess, despite being called the "Instinct Series" the watches are not really the same software wise.
Some features that are present on the Crossover are not on the Instinct…
Agreed - certainly would be easiest if they both just had the same features. Though if anything the Crossover should have some additional features over the Instinct 2 (which I realize it does in some regards…

Please don't forget about the loyal Garmin users that have bought the most expensive of the instinct family!

Some features that are present on the Crossover are not on the Instinct and some features of the Instinct are not on the Crossover even though the version numbering would have you believe they are the same software.
It's a bit of a shambles really, I know a lot of users were super unhappy with the last beta round and I hope Garmin work out the software side of things and that consumers aren't penalised for choosing to have an analogue or digital version of this watch.

This is crazy I had 2 Garmin instinct surf edition that became inoperable due to back button getting stuck. Just received a brand new cross-over and to my demise I cannot find Surf activity on it even though it was advertised!!! I will be using OWS or SUP to track my surfing, this watch is too good to return...
I have to take this back, I went ahead and manually updated the software from the watch interface and now I see SURF and other water sports related activities !!!!!!
Hi. May I ask, did 'sail race' arrive as an activity with this update too please? I'd be grateful if someone who owns a crossover with current firmware could confirm this is present. The Garmin website says its is there, but none of the online reviews show it
I do not see Sail Race... Windsurf and Kitesurf, but no sailing
Thanks for the reply. Thats consistent with the online reviews I can find.
Youtube video around 2:45 SUP, Kayak, Row Boat
DCR review Kayak, SUP, Surf, Kiteboard, Windsurf, Row,
However……
The garmin website where I live, and in any of the countries where I have checked, including e.g USA, specifically give the following list of 'on the water' activities.
Stand Up Paddleboarding, Rowing, Kayaking, Surfing, Kiteboarding, Windsurfing, Fishing, Boating, Sailing, Sail Racing, Water Skiing, Wakeboarding, Wakesurfing, Tubing, Sailing Expedition, Whitewater, Snorkeling
