New System Software updates delay.

Why do some of us (I'm in UK) always have to wait so long for the announced system updates? For instance, the 11.18 update for the Instinct Crossover was announced 7 days ago yet I still can't get it.

Normally the update announcements come along with the statement 'we are curently at 10% with this update....' , or something similar.

Why is there always such a delay? For instance, when Apple release a software update for their systems it is available to all (normally!) as soon as the release date is reached, don't understand why there is always a 'lucky dip' mentality with Garmin!

Feel the same pain. I have been connecting the crossover to the pc for the update and nothing coming up. I bought it the day it was released.

Since the rollout is stalled at 10%, it usually means that there were problems reported by the early adopters, and Garmin stopped the rollout while investigating it closer.

There may be some sort of problem which they are investigating but this delay in receiving updates happens every time.

Happened on the I2 I had, happens on the Crossover I've now got!

Not a major problem, just very frustrating!

A very fair question, global roll-out of Garmin updates take several days rather than hours. It has happened before with my other (Garmin) devices and it seems normal with Garmin that the UK (and maybe other areas) get updates later than other geos. If there is a delay, Garmin should just let everyone know by updating the relevant post.

It is intentional, and helps them catching and fixing issues reported in the early deployment phase, that were not reported by beta-testers. If you are so impatient that you cannot wait a few days more, consider joining the beta program, and you will get the new version long time before the official release. Or install the alpha version manually any time you wish, even before the beta testers get it.

Whoever is updating the post about the Crossover update release isn't doing it right. I believe it originally said 10 percent and it would be increased over time. Then it said it was currently at 10 percent and that 30 percent would be increased over time. Now it says it's at 10 percent and that 75 percent will be increased over time. Either way, I'm either in the 90 percent or the 25 percent who don't have the update yet.

That is not the point. Global roll-out of software updates should not take so long.

I agree that it shouldn't take so long, and if the release really is stalled at 10 percent, that is reason for concern. My point is that it appears the release is actually at 75 percent which is less concerning. Also, I'm in the US and haven't gotten the update. I've always had pretty bad luck getting in the queue. Pretty sure the release could be at 99 percent and I wouldn't have it

Still saying - 'You're up to date Software version 3.11'
