Which folder on the watch contains daily summary files

For some odd reason my watch doesn't want to connect to my phones via bluetooth anymore. I tried unpairing and pairing again - using iOS and Android phones, to no avail.
Syncing via Garmin Express also doesn't seem to work - even though it says that it's syncing and that it finished successfully I can't see the data being picked up under Garmin Connect. Interestingly I can connect to sensors via both BT and ANT+ and I was able to use Garmin Pay so the radios seem to work.

Before I open a warranty claim I want to try the hard reset route.

Question: how do I back up the daily summary metrics (steps, HR, HRV, stress etc)??? I have a 3 day gap and I don't want to lose these stats.
Can I copy the whole GARMIN structure onto my computer, do a reset, and then paste the GARMIN structure back onto the watch? Or is it not possible at all. I did some digging but I can't find a definitive answer.

Alternatively maybe someone has an idea why I can't sync... Getting it to work again without reset would be the perfect scenario.

I appreciate your help.

  • Most of the daily data is in the folder //GARMIN/Monitoring. However, if you want to be sure, make a backup of the entire folder structure. It is not that big. Placing the full structure back may not fix your problem though. I rather suggest following the hint #4 from the Troubleshooting guide for (some) data missing after syncing

  • Thanks for the feedback. I went through all the steps in your troubleshooting guide and unfortunately nothing managed to force the 2 missing days (of some statistics, not all were lost funnily enough) to sync even though they were on the watch and visible under glances. I even created alternative Garmin account hoping that this will trigger a reset in database indexing but to no avail. In the end I wiped the watch and I'm hoping it won't happen again. It's a shame Garmin doesn't have any tools which would help in situations like these - I see there's loads of posts on here asking for help with this and no replies from Garmin.

As for the issue connecting via BT... as ridiculous as it sounds it was caused by the watch connecting to an older iPad which had updated itself and reenabled BT. I forgot that that iPad used to be paired with this watch and that it still exists on the list of bluetooth devices. What also didn't help is lack of any indication on the watch as to which device it's connected to. My Edge computer does this and it helps a lot.

  • nothing managed to force the 2 missing days

The steps in the #4 of troubleshooting guide do not bring back the data already lost (synced to a phantom account). It just prevents that the data loss continues in future.
