Comparison against Fenix 6 pro

Dear forum,

I ordered the Instinct 2 SolTac on Sale for 336 EUR.

Anyway, I will have the chance of buying a slightly used Fenix 6 Pro Solar for a similar price.

If I decide the F6, I will return the Instinct 2.

The advantages of the F6 to my knowledge are generally the Maps and the Music Storage, as well as Colored Display, while the Instinctś strength is the "unlimited" battery.

However, my Instinct 2 Solar shows only 10 days of usage when fully charged, also the solar intensity seems suspiciously low (even when exposing it to a strong flashlight directly). PulseOx is set to manual, HR to automatic and I receive Phone notifications, no activity running. I guess it should keep up better than that under these circumstances.

So I would like to ask you:

- Should I take the slightly used F6 Pro Solar over the Instinct for the same money?

- Is the battery issue described above explainable, am I doing something wrong, or is my Instinct broken?

    Hello Mario,

    I have both the Instinct 2 Dezl ( wanted Garmin Pay) and the Fenix 6 Pro. I am currently wearing the Instinct. Why you may ask why?

    The Instinct is so much lighter, you barely know its on.

    Has all the same capabilities , except maps

    Fenix 6 Pro is much easier to Read for me but I always worry about scratching it. ( metal case)

    The instinct has a much deeper crystal and not as easy to scratch.

    Both watches perform about the same. 

    Sleep tracking is equally terrible!

    Wish I could make font larger on the instinct. Sometimes its a little hard to see with these old eyes!

    I do switch back and forth between both Watches but my overall preference is the Instinct 2.

    I believe you will be very happy with either.

    As far as your battery issue. Make sure Pulse Ox is not set on for sleep. This will bring battery life down significantly.
