Instinct Crossover Data Screen Fields - How Many?

For those with an Instinct Crossover:

How many Data Fields are possible on each Data Screen?

DCRainmaker shows only three, but it was not a complete review.

Currently on my Instinct 2 Solar Tactical I can configure five Data Fields per Data Screen.

It would be a shame if I had to "downgrade" to just three Data Fields if I were to "upgrade" to a Crossover.

TIA

  • Instinct and Instinct solar have not only different software, but they differ also in hardware. And I do not mean only the solar functionality. Instinct Solar uses newer HRM sensor, unlike the plain Instinct it has also the PulseOx sensor, and a newer GPS chip (Sony).

If you are supporting separate forums for the Instinct and Instinct Solar because they have different hardware, then shouldn't  the new Airoha GPS chipset in the Crossover [Source] justify a separate forum?

Only if I agree with you. (I am joking with you.) Grinning It's a conversation held that I am part of with each new outdoor watch and we more or less discuss the reasons why it would be needed. If over time, there is a clear need, I am open minded and I will be happy to make the Instinct Crossover forum at that time.

If the Crossover sells a million, I will make you the forum. Deal? Seems reasonable to me. Wink

If the Crossover becomes it's own big deal like the original base Instinct did, we doubled the color options then we later added more model options, the forum will be needed.

How could I possibly disagree with that? Good idea ThumbsupEager to see the popularity of the Crossover soar!

Just one point to follow-up.  You mentioned:

"Your core Crossover Instinct software is released quarterly at the same time and will match the software version number seen at the top of the Instinct 2 forums."

Currently, the Instinct 2 forum has Software Version 10.10 at the top; but current Software Version for my Instinct Crossover is 3.10.  Am I to infer from your statement that there will soon be a Software Version 10.10 issued for the Crossover?

As always, thanks very much for your support - it's very much appreciated.

  • I understand the logic behind this post and while I don’t disagree with it, how does one “officially” submit issues with the Crossover without it being lost with another models forum? For example, I made a new thread a few days ago about some GUI issues that need to be fixed on the Crossover. Has that been seen by the team and/or deemed “important enough” to fix?

Will the Crossover be added to BETA?

Full disclosure - with late November through December being our busiest time of year, exposure to what you post is more limited.

My advice remains to continue making a new post since it also allows other Instinct Crossover owners to post on the thread too. Adding Instinct Crossover at the start of your post name will help too but what I am looking for is a potential new bug within the name of your post, regardless of the Instinct 2 model.

When I do review your post, I will reach out to each customer reporting an issue in that thread to grab everyone at once to add into the tracking case I will write. If your post is missed since I am unable to read every post made (but I try to and I will normally at least skim content when our busiest) you can send me a direct PM and I will always respond as quickly as possible. This time of year, it will be slower than what everyone is used to but I will always respond to get your issue reported, the case written, and escalated to our engineering team.

If the issue is ever critical and you need faster assistance, please reach out to Outdoor Product Support in your region.

Will the Crossover be added to BETA?

    Updated December 21st, 2022:

Yes. After our engineering team catches up with the Instinct Crossover software to match it to the Instinct 2 series, there are plans to include it in the Public Beta Software program for those that would like to join.

current Software Version for my Instinct Crossover is 3.10

    Updated December 21st, 2022:

We will see what Q1 2023 brings from engineering. The Instinct Crossover is going to be part of the quarterly official updates and the software will be updated to match the Instinct 2 series.
