Battery not giving days advertised?

So got my instinct 2 almost couple of weeks ago. It’s set up with pulse ox off, back light turned off, chest strap when working out. When fully charged said 28 days I think. I charged it fully on a Thursday, the following Thursday it said 10 days but that wasn’t correct, I know by looking at battery icon I might have got another day, during that week I had 4 gps runs on smart recording, 6k average distance.

I charged it again Friday morning, now Sunday I’m sitting 20 days, that’s with a 10k yesterday and a 5k today. Battery is sitting at about 75% charge. I’m basically getting like a week despite what the days say.

Is this normal?

Same issue here, similar usage.

Also, my solar intake seems very low, even when exposing the watch to a strong flashlight.

I might return it, as I am undecided wether to buy a slightly used F6proSolar or keep the Instinct 2 SolTac.

I will try to do a factory reset as it may be related to a "corrupt file", according to this thread:

That's a bit odd idea to charge the watch with a flashlight. At the strongest advanced flashlights you can get up to 3,000 to 5,000 lux at close distance, while at Sun it is up to 130,000 lux. So there is not much to expect from charging the watch with an ordinary flashlight.

You are right, but sunlight also doesn work. However, the low battery performance persists still after factory reset.

I have the same issue since firmware V10.10. After full charging shows the watch 28 days. It takes now maximum of 18 days and the battery is empty. (pulse ox off / energy saving over night) The battery level drops very quickly if it is under 30%.

The internal battery prediction is not very accurate and often too optimistic try using the battery guestimate app apps.garmin.com/.../572b8232-7fb6-4e4f-a938-2395d0df3c7c
