Garmin Connect does show my HRM on every activity screen where it was really used:
For example this activity was done with HRM Dual and pod
My HRM Pro Plus shows but my cadence sensor and my foot pod never show. There is a difference in how the sensors are treated. I would love to know what stats came from what sensor.
Based on what the HRM status shows when the door pod is connected I can assume pace and distance on the treadmill come from the foot pod. But as for cadence on the trainer I can't independently verify which sensor is used. Is it the Tacx or the cadence sensor? Connect does not say.
Is it the Tacx or the cadence sensor?
I think best practice for wind trainers is to have one source only for speed/cadence. If you have them on the bike use those and don't connect the trainer's.
You can also see the full list of all sensors, including those that are not listed in Garmin Connect, and including internal sensors of the watch, in the JSON data of the activity, with the help of browser's DevTools (F12), when you open the activity in Garmin Connect Web.
That is not fair, I souldn't need to be inpecting the whole site since on most forerunner watches the information is in garmin connect app. I think this is a bug more than a missing feature.
I am just telling you how to verify whether the sensors were really connected or not. If you find a bug, report it to the Support. This is a user forum, and we cannot fix any bugs here.
Trying to follow along with your suggestion to use Gamin Connect Web but what is it (or just connect.garmin.com)? I'm at connect.garmin.com looking at my activity, but I don't see how to open my activity in that view. I open the activity, I can see the map and details, I hit F12, Network, Fetch/XHR, Ctrl+R. I get a list of Names that I can Preview, but I can't find one that has the data like you're showing. I find one that mentions my ride title/name (10597781702?_=1677...) and I one that lists all of my sensors *sensors?_=167...) that are paired for both of my bikes. 10597781702 is the ID for the ride I'm interested in.
Any suggestions?
I also tried exporting FIT, converting to CSV, searching for sensors but I don't see any sensors listed there. Thanks.
Any suggestions?
When you sort the streams/files in the Network view by Name, the one you want to check is usually the first one with the name 8888888888?_=99999999999, where the 8888888888 stands for the activity ID as shown in the URL of the activity. You can find the sensors in the section metadataDTO of the preview.
