Today I scrolled all acivities but I couldn't find Winter Swimming.
It is called Open Water Swimming. Works as well in summer as in winter. And in the night too
I wonder…
Yes, at pool swimming, the temperature is just in the stats, but since it rarely varies in the pool, it should be sufficient. You can still see it live anytime, on the watch, though.
I couldn't find Night Swimming, either. Could we have that, too?
Jokes aside, I wonder if it would be possible to measure water temperature with Instinct like Coros watches do. Seems like a thing possible with a CIQ field (doing some approximation ofc).

Yes, Instinct2, as well as any other Garmin watch with the thermometer, already does measure the water temperature when swimming. No CIQ needed, the built-in temperature field is already there, and works fine. It also records it and shows the water temperature graph in the activity details in Garmin Connect.
Ah, my bad - temperature chart is only in open water activities :) nice

Yep, no sense having a chart in the pool. Now I can have a data driven comparison of 'too warm' pools vs 'cold as it should be' pools in my area
Yesterday I modified typical Swimming activity to Winter Swimming.I left only one screen with pulse, temperature, distance and stopwatch).
It would be nice to just quickly select interesting activities straight of the box rather than to modify existing.
I suppose having this in by default in watch also helps to create challenges if somebody likes it.
Tested it together with winter swimming, important this is to leave turned on flashlight at the shore ;)

You mean having 50,000 (or more) different activity profiles on the watch, for all existing activities, so that you can choose easily the ones that interest you?
I checked quickly how many cycling activities there are in my watch: 10 Skiing and similar: 6 .
Openwater swimming is not the same challenge and putting summer swimming and winter standing/walking to the same bag is far from desired effect.
Trux, I suppose winter swimming is quite popular now. I wouldn't be big issue to me if Instinct would be more reliable than it is now. I would choose preferred activities at the beginning or modify one or two and that's it. But it isn't like this, at least for me. Recently My watch synchronized to Connect on my smartphone only after reset. If I wanted to synchronize once again I had to reset watch. And time to time I have to do hard reset watch. I tried to restore watch as per Garmin instructions but it newer worked for me. So I do it from scratch.
