Incorrect tides data for Instinct 2 Surf

Hi,

I picked the Instinct 2 Surf edition partly for the tides information.

But unfortunately, at least for France, the data is way too off to be usable: about 20mn for tides time and about 2 meters for tides height. I've set up the location on Saint-Malo (Brittany, France), where the tides amplitudes are among the biggest in Europe (up to 12m)

It's definitely not usable for sailing for example.

In this post, you mentioned the source for the data:

"NOAA for the United States tides and the World Weather Online service for most of the rest of the world."

If you want accurate data for France it must be taken from the SHOM (https://maree.shom.fr/), the french equivalent of NOOA.

I've written to WWO to see if they could use data from the SHOM, but I still don't have an answer from them. So maybe you could do something on your side, change the source for France, or ask WWO to use SHOM as a data source for France ?

Best of luck. I don't look into these forums much anymore. The problems with the incorrect tide times have existed and persisted for years. Garmin knows about these and basically does nothing. It's a joke. The same applies to so many other problems, like incorrect altimeter and barometer calibration, problems with the heartrate sensor, and crashing. Never again a Garmin.

I have the same issue with incorrect tides data for the indian ocean zone (Mauritius). I've written both WWO and Garmin but there's no answer from them.

Looks like they don't care about their customers. Their data are accurate only for USA and some part of europe and it looks like it's enough for them. I regret my Rip Curl watch...

Hope that i will get an answer and a correction soon!

Yessss!!! Finally, WWO answered my e-mail and corrected their data!

Now everything is fine. It took a whole month, but that was worth it.

I hope that they will be able to fix this issue for everybody.
