External Heart Rate Monitor HRM Pro disconnecting during activity in Instinct 2

How did you solve the issue? Mine has issue with connection for about 4 weeks. I am using it with Fenix 6. First there were random gaps without HR readings (ANT+), then it stopped communicate with Connect app (bluetooth), now it goes from connected to disconnected state every few seconds. Further it provides HR readings while not wearing it. Changing battery (tried two different batteries) did not solve the issue.

I search the reviews on shop where I bought them and it was full of review "works fine, but only for about one year". It seems to me, it is also my case.

Mine was replaced. It seems that this issue is relatively common. It usually starts between 5 - 15 months of use. Often after replacement of battery. Anybody reading this who has similar issues, dont waste time with it and do warranty claim.

How do you know if the connectivity problem is on the watch or the strap?  My strap is less than a year old.  Bought new from Amazon.  Worked fine for a few months then stopped connecting reliably when I start an activity.  It used to connect quickly.

It was accepted as defective by Garmin and it was replaced with new one during the warranty claim. Mine HRM also had issues with bluetooth connection to phone. You can test BT connection in a fitness app or better, in nRF connect app. I was quite sure that HRM Pro was defective because my old ANT+ strap by Wahoo worked perfectly with my watch. 

I have the same problem on fenix 5 plus. My Polar H10 works very well for one year. But after the second battery replacement it starts randomly drop the heart rate during activity. I don't really know what's the issue: strap or hear rate monitor or usual software problems with garmin.

Record the activity simultaneously with the Strava app on the phone connected to the same strap, and see whether you get some dropouts there too.

Good idea, polar h10 supports several devices recording. But I think change my monitor to IGPSport HR70 because polar rubs my chest on the long distantions.
