Watch freezes on save screen

My watch freezes up after completing a 'Training Peaks' uploaded exercise while saving it. You can only exit the screen by doing a hard reset.

After completing a hard reset (holding the on/off button for 15 sec), the exercise is not saved but is retained as a health snapshot.

Looking into that data, it only shows time, avg and max HR and health benefits.

There is no way to sync this data to the Garmin connect app.

I have found a way to extract this data manually by connecting the watch to my PC (going into the Garmin folder) and uploading the relevant FIT files to the Training Peaks website.

Prior to update 9.23 there was no issue.

Is this a software issue or could a full restore be beneficial?

Yes, master reset is the reset to factory defaults, but the data remains in your Garmin Connect account. You lose the settings, and the watch will have to re-learn some of your metrics again.

Hard to tell without trying it. You could also try upgrading to v9.27 instead first (you'd need to join the beta program) - that would not erase all your settings.

Edit: the public v9.27 was actually already released, so you just need to wait a few days before you get it automatically

OK, in that case you have two options - master reset, or downgrade to a version prior 9.23. Or contacting the Support, of course, too, but they will likely ask you to do the master reset anyway.
