9.23 update made me walk faster than an airplane in UltraTrac mode

Since I updated my Instinct 2S to 9.23 my standard walk activity in UltraTrac mode started to show distances of more than 30x times bigger than the actual.

The watch displays the wrong number during the activity and it goes like that to the Connect as well.

So far I did 2 walks with 9.23 with real distances of about 5km but the activity summary shows 238.67 km and 172.96 km. The track itself looks normal, without any extreme spikes that could justify the distances.

It doesn't seem to happen in normal GPS mode during the running activity.

Please fix it as it makes UltraTrack mode useless.

After the update to v9.23, did you do some walks in the standard GPS mode before the UltraTrac walk? The watch uses pace and distance values based on the average stride length, when no GPS data is available (which is the case most of te time in the UltraTrac mode). And the average stride length gets calibrated only during activities in the standard GPS mode. It is possible that after the update, the avg. stride length needs to be calibrated anew. Try making a few more walks in the standard mode. Use the same activity type as in the case of the UltraTrac. The avg. stride length at walks, and at runs may be calibrated separately.

Did it help? I have just come back from walking of 6 km with recorded 500 km or so in total. It's definitely bug with UltraTrac - the question is why all was fine bwefore 9.23? When I check my daily steps it shows some 6.3km so I believe walking stride lenght is correct, while activity distance in UltraTrac is like from another world.

I see the same issue on my Instinct 2 and my wife's Instinct 2s. GPS track I see on map in ultratrack mode is absolutely fine, but distance is over 500 km for a 6km hike.

I'd probably turn off the software update at all after this issue will be fixed.

Walking in the Normal GPS mode doesn't help. When I switch back to UltraTrac I still see huge distances.

I contacted support with this issue and they told that there's no registered issues like this O_o

Support suggested to turn off/ turn on the device and it didn't help.

In normal GPS mode it works as expected, but in ultratrack speed is >800 km/h, distance >500 km for a 2 hour hike.

I find it ridiculous how Garmin tends to treat customers - I was told exactly the same few days ago and yet have (had that time?) open ticket with them, a little eye opener it is

We are looking into this report further.

Please try the following:

- Restart your watch

- Hard Reset by holding down your top left button until your watch powers off then let go of the button

- Reset to Default: Go to System > Reset and select Reset Default Settings

My watch auto updated to 9.23 (84ac300) today. same issue while walk in ultratrac. I just walked 100 meters, but the watch alerted me 1km notification.
