I have been using Instinct Tactical (no solar) for over two years now and have been thinking about an upgrade. I just realised (today) that not only Instict 2 has been released but that there's also a new range Enduro 2.
I like my Instinct 1 but there are few things missing. I was hoping that people who used both Instict 2 and Enduro 2 can help me choose. Here are my criteria and problems/wants
1. Definitely going with solar this time (even during ~10h hike the battery would sometimes go totally empty)
2. I like that tactical has been unbreakable - is Enduro 2 built with the same grade materials?
3. I would like to stop using phone on my hikes to look up the route. I do it less often nowadays but Instict 1 has 50 points maximum and with windy paths that sometimes give you 2+ options to go, you don't really know if you're taking the right one. I know Enduro 2 has pretty maps, which, I was thinking, could save me ditching my phone and buying handheld GPS. How's Instinct 2 in that department?
4. The oxygen monitor is included in both, isn't it?
5. The only modes I use: strength, navigate, walk (no swimming or running)
6. I believe Instinct 2 is waterproof, but Enduro isn't?
I've read some other reviews on the internet and it seems like people still complain about the maps. It looks like this is also my main concern for the Instinct but also paying 3x more just for that feature for Enduro, seems excessive..
