I don´t get any useful wave info from my instict 2 surf. I see that if i stay with the arm inside of the water the GPS signal is completely lost. Is that the reason?

I just linked my watch to the strava and the wave tracker. it´s not perfect, but it catched my better wave today. The data is there, there is an issue with the algorithm.
I surf hope my instinct 2’d other features are more accurate than the surfing AP. I’ve owned both ripcurl search watches and several 
’s and I’m blown away that a gps pioneer specialist like garmen can’t figure this out. I got 12 waves yesterday for 0 distance at 0 speed?
