I've been trying to run at a certain heart rate but I cannot for the life of me get heart rate alerts to work properly. I start a run activity and go to run settings to set an alert for a high heart rate, but nothing would happen when going above that heart rate. Then I tried setting an alert for a heart rate zone and nothing happened. Then I tried setting an audio prompt to tell me my heart rate every so often and nothing happened. I also tried setting alerts before pressing start and using the menu mid-activity, both methods failed. I understand audio prompts are a known issue but has anyone had success using heart rate or pace alerts during a run? I've never used these features before so I'm not sure if I'm misunderstanding how to use them or if it's an issue with the watch software. I do get pace alerts during Garmin Coach activities that are built into the training plan but never get alerts I set manually. I also get the lap audio alerts which I have read cannot be turned off due to a software bug,so that seems to rule out a connectivity issue. Any other ideas? Thanks in advance.
