the green light is still active with the battery saver mode

hello

1st of all, when i remove my watch from my wrist the green light stops, which is the correct behavior, my topic is about the green light when i wear the watch.

i have activated the battery saver mode and checked that the "wrist heart rate" option of the battery save mode (edit option) is set to "off" but the green light continues to be active..

it should or not?

[EDIT] the video is not viewable in the messages, i add it here https://www.transfernow.net/dltransfer?utm_source=20220312l53cxDEt or https://www.swisstransfer.com/d/7341edf3-1dba-432d-a398-d53b39dbf5a7 )

  • On your watch, if you go to Power Manager > Battery Saver > Edit, you can set your watch to either keep your wrist heart rate OHR sensor On or Off.

Even if you have your watch Sensors & Accessories > Wrist Heart Rate set to Status = Auto, when you turn on your Battery Saver, your OHR sensor should show disabled when you double check while using your Battery Saver feature.

Please ensure your Instinct 2 is fully updated to software version 6.16 when you go to System > About on your watch. If you continue to have an issue, please highlight my name and send me a Private Message. I will be happy to assist further. Thank you.

  • Hi. I follow your instructions but OHR is still active in power save Garmin - Chris

  • Are you using Battery Saver or did you setup your own Power Mode that you use for certain activities?

If you are willing to provide more specific details, please highlight my name and send me a Private Message. Thank you!

  • I use default battery saver during sleep and ohr still active but doesnt show in widget HR number

  • i have the software version 6.16 and i have the message that the battery saver is enabled when i want to check the HR graphical widget.

in the Power Manager > Battery Saver > Edit the "wrist heart rate" is set to "turn off" (there is not "auto", the 2 choices are "turn off" or "don't change")

  • When your Battery Saver is on, how long are you seeing the OHR Green LED lights on? On my Instinct 2 Solar, when my battery saver is Enabled, I have been able to very briefly for one to two seconds long seen my OHR sensor Green LED lights to quickly flicker but they turned off and did not remain on. Thank you.

  • when i choose "don't change" the light is brighter and is lighted continuously, but if i choose "turn off" the light is less bright and i can see that it blinks very quickly (so it's not continuously lighted)

is it the same for you?

  • when the watch is not worn the light stops.

but if i wear it. if i lift the watch then i can see the green light on my skin. and it doesnt stop (i can wait, 1 sec, 2 sec etc... or 1min, no change)

  • my version is 6.16 (122c2c9)

    these numbers are correct?

  • Yes. Your v6.16 software version is the most current official release.

Thank you for the update. When you set your Battery Saver setting to "Don't Change" for your OHR sensor, you are telling your watch to keep using your OHR sensor when your Battery Saver is enabled. The default setting for your Battery Saver feature is your OHR sensor is Off. (To help you avoid the extra battery drain.)

If you set your Instinct 2's Power Manager > Battery Saver > Edit menu for Wrist Heart Rate = Don't Change, you are telling your watch to keep using your OHR sensor as long as your Sensors & Accessories > Wrist Heart Rate > Status = Auto.
